Kojic Acid
Kojic acid conventionally named 5-hydroxy-2-hydroxymethyl-4H-pyran-4-one, is a white or cream-colored acicular crystal. It easily dissolves in water, alcohol and acetone, slightly dissolves in ether, ethyl acetate, chloroform and pyridine, does not dissolve in benzene.
